The economy is getting faster.
All processes speed up more and more.
Also the claim to get ordered goods delivered within a short time is getting higher.
If there is no appropriate storage of goods, 2 factors are crucial:
- the production time
- the transport time
These two factors determine the delivery time.
The more flexible a manufacturer is structured, the shorter the production times
are. In Europe companies are used to react quickly to market conditions. The degree
of automation has been increased though without give up the flexibility.
Often they have focused to flexible production of small and medium-sized series instead of mass production.
This minimizes the required production time.
The closer the place of production is to the place to be delivered, the shorter the transport routes are.
Goods must not be shipped for weeks across the oceans - with regional partners a short transport time is guaranteed.
